Clay mineralogy : PIMA SWIR spectra indicate the presence of kaolinite.

Coarse mineralogy : XRF-normative analysis estimated this soil consisted of 94% 
quartz. 

Spectral Description: The FTIR spectrum for fgg027 indicates the quartz 
reststrahlen features at 8.2, 8.625 and 9.2 um. The secondary quartz 
reststrahlen doublet feature is clearly observed at 12.53 and 12.8. A subtle 
shoulder at 9.9 um and absorption at 9.0 um suggests the presence of kaolinite.
